A patient teacher and talented performer, Grace started dancing in preschool at Gray’s School of Dance, in her hometown of Ottawa, IL. Growing up in this studio, Grace learned not just dance technique, but confidence, poise, and passion for the arts. At 16, she was asked to join the teaching team and never looked back! From that point on, teaching became a part of Grace’s everyday life. Whether it was dance or drama, preschool or high school, one hour or ten hours, she was constantly in class. For Grace, teaching dance is about more than just technique. It’s about building relationships and helping her students make new discoveries about themselves and the world around them.
A stage performer as well, Grace received a BA from Illinois State University in Theatre Studies, with a focus in Creative Drama. After graduating in 2010, Grace studied abroad with ProDanza Italia in Tuscany before ultimately moving to Chicago. She has performed, directed, and taught for several local companies, including the Beverly Arts Center, Windy City Players, and Alphabet Soup Productions.
When Grace isn’t in class, there’s a good chance you’ll spot her walking around Chicago. She loves exploring the city on foot, visiting different neighborhoods, shops, and restaurants. She is so happy to be a part of the Duet team, helping spread the joy of social dance.
