Joyce and Logan were such a joy to work with! With Joyce having a ballet background and Logan being a complete beginner, they begin taking lessons around 9 months before their big day. They were up for the challenge to learn a fully choreographed mashup routine, dedicating 30+ hours in the studio. Their dance was the perfect mixture of formal, romantic, and fun and a grand way to get the party started. We are so very proud of them - a dance to remember!
Erin and Andrew wanted a fun and whimsical first dance for their summer wedding at the Waukegan Yacht Club, and in the process they discovered the joy of partner dancing together. Their dance to 'Don't Stop Me Now' combines foxtrot, single swing, and triple swing as well as lots of fun highlights, including a lift for each of them! We love the moments which showcase their playful personalities- see if you can catch Andrew's 'finger guns'. We loved working with Erin and Andrew and wish them many happy years dancing together!
Adam and Christina started taking lessons 5 months before their big day! They knew they wanted a combination of formal and casual with picture perfect highlight moments spread throughout the dance. We went with a semi choreographed routine using foxy and swing styles as our base and fun spins, dips, and a lift to spotlight their favorite parts of the song. This structure helped give them some direction and also allowed them some wiggle room to go off script if necessary. Their dance was a memorable wedding moment and they later told us that dance lessons were their favorite part of wedding planning. Cheers to the happy couple!
Allie and William began taking dance lessons 6 months before their wedding. They were complete novices in ballroom dance. However, they were excited about learning a new skill together as a couple and determined to master a choreographed first dance for their wedding. We had a blast teaching them the "La La Land" first dance routine and they totally nailed it at their wedding! Enjoy this dreamy and romantic routine...
Jayson and Katie began taking dance lessons at Duet Dance Studio 4 months before their wedding. They had a lot of fun learning the Foxtrot and Swing. Our dance instructors choreographed this romantic first dance that combined those two styles. We loved working with Jayson and Katie. You can tell how much they love each other by the way they move together!
Nate and Lisa were wonderful students and such lovely people! They wanted a sweet and sentimental dance to commemorate their first moments as a married couple. Mixing slow dance and foxy styles, we crafted their routine using patterns and romantic choreography that helped them live in the moment and capture the most beautiful images. We’re in absolute awe… congratulations Mr & Mrs!
CJ and Jeff have been dancing with Duet for almost a year. They took a dance lesson for fun and felt in love with it! Now, dancing has become a hobby for them even after their wedding. They discovered this unique first dance song one day and decided to have us choreograph to it. We absolutely love how it turned out. The music and dancing go perfectly well to their modern yet rustic outdoor wedding. Congratulations guys! Here's to a lifetime of dancing together!
Kristina and Andrew were one of our favorite couples that we've met. They started as complete beginners but they were a joy to work with! They stayed positive and committed during the whole learning process. The result was a beautiful first dance that combines Slow Foxtrot and Swing. Cheers to a lifetime of dancing together!
Dan and Christina nailed their first dance! They started taking dance lessons at Duet 6 months before their wedding and have learned the Tango, Swing and Rumba. For their first dance, they chose to do the Tango because they wanted to surprise their guests with a dramatic routine!
Aaron and Poushali surprised their guests with this romantic waltzy first dance. They started taking dance lessons a few months before their wedding at Duet Dance. Not only did they master their first dance, they even learned some fancy swing moves to show off at their reception!
Mike and Claire chose one of the most timeless first dance songs, "All of Me" by Frank Sinatra. They started taking wedding dance lessons at Duet Dance Studio a few months before their big day. They had zero dance experience before they came to the studio but they ended up with a simple yet elegant first dance, which is a combination of Foxtrot and Swing. Congratulations guys! We are so proud of you!
