Virginia
Instructor
Virginia has been dancing since preschool when her parents realized she couldn’t be breaking things around the house if she was occupied with dancing. She very quickly found a passion in dance as an athletic and dramatic outlet. Virginia trained for many years in ballet, lyrical, tap, musical theater, and jazz before starting to compete regionally and nationally. Virginia is pursuing dual degrees in biology and dance at Loyola University of Chicago. During her time in Chicago, she's had the opportunity to study intimately with many seasoned dance masters as well as attend and perform in many dance festivals. She has attended the American College Dance Association Conference as well as presented dance-centric research at Loyola University. Virginia took up ballroom dance in college and hasn’t stopped since.
When describing dance, Virginia frequently uses the word “cerebral”. She firmly believes that dance is not just movement, but the integration of mind, body, and culture. Virginia is most happy when she sees people connecting with each other through social dancing.
When she isn’t dancing, Virginia can be found watching obscure history documentaries, petting any dog to wander into her sight, and reading mystery novels into the early hours of the morning.
