Why teach dance? Why teach couples to dance?

"In the process of learning to dance together, a couple can develop a deeper sense of connection that helps them cope with other aspects of their relationship."

Inspired by my very first ballet teacher, a graceful and intelligent woman who always treated her students with kindness and patience, I decided to become a dance teacher just like her. I began teaching dance when I was in high school and have been lucky enough to live my dream ever since. Out of all styles of dance, I enjoy teaching partner dancing the most. As a kid, I was always amazed by how ballroom dance couples can be so in sync in their movement without speaking; it was like magic to me. Later I realized this is called LEADING and FOLLOWING, skills based on sensing physical cues. I want to share this magic trick with every couple because it is so beneficial to their relationship. In the process of learning to dance together, a couple can develop a deeper sense of connection that helps them cope with other aspects of their relationship.
